Fort D. A. Russell Days

Ever since the girls rode their first horse, they have constantly been asking to ride horses again. So, when an email popped up on Courtney's email for horse riding, Courtney knew right away that he had to sign up the girls.

It actually ended up being part of the Fort D. A. Russell Days here on base. This is our first summer being here, so all this stuff is new to us, especially this and Frontier Days.

So, when we arrived that morning for horse riding, we weren't too sure on what to expect.

Unfortunately, we didn't have a whole lot of time to roam around because Courtney had to go to work, but what we were able to see was pretty cool.

The kids got to sit in a helicopter and a fire truck (forgot to take pictures of that) and we were able to watch the Security Forces dog show us what he could do.

Throughout the area, they also had living history areas. The kids were pretty amazed at how people lived back in the day.

Hopefully, next year, since we know what happens during these events, we will be a little more prepared for it and be able to enjoy all the events a little more.
