Happy 9th Birthday, Logan James!

 9 YEARS OLD!!

Slow down time, I’m so not ready for this.

As soon as February hit, Logan started to count down the days until his big day. He was so excited and every day he would have something new to add to his birthday list.

I will be forever grateful for technology these days, especially on special days like birthdays. We had a row of phones with family on FaceTime, so they could be part of watching Logan open presents. Courtney even woke up in the middle of the night to watch him open presents, which Logan was very worried about. He didn’t want daddy to miss out on it all.

Starting with first thing in the morning, when he walked down to see all his presents waiting for him, he knew exactly what ones he wanted to open first and the one that would be the very last one.

So, when we got home from school and got everyone on FaceTime, he knew exactly what order he wanted to open his presents. But, like he told me over and over again, he needed to open the cards first. He’s such a sweet boy, I love him so much!!.

He was overly excited that the first present he opened was lots of NASCAR diecasts, it’s always number one on his lists for anything. And just like every other birthday, this boy was spoiled. Probably more so from us because I have been trying my hardest to make all these birthdays and holidays without Courtney being here with us, a little extra special.

Between all the Buc-ees stuff, Legos and Michigan Championship gear, I believe Logan got most of the stuff that was on his birthday list.

As for the last 2 presents that he made sure were last, the second to last one was a set of golf clubs. Logan has been begging Courtney since moving here, if they can rent a golf cart and go golfing and it just hasn’t happened yet. I guess when you live on a golf course it’s bound to happen that we have golfers in the family. So, now Logan has his own set that he’s excited to use when Courtney gets home from deployment.

The last present was an extra big squishmallow and the best part of it… it’s a moose!! He had an inkling it was a squishmallow, but he had no clue it was going to be as big as it was! He has really enjoyed snuggling up in it and relaxing, that’s for sure.

No better way to end your birthday with some birthday brownies, topped with 9 candles!

Logan sure had a great birthday, but we weren’t done yet. We had to go out for a birthday dinner. Due to his birthday being on a weekday, we decided to wait until the weekend to have a birthday dinner out. Logan had a hard time picking exactly where he wanted to go, but in the end he picked Palmetto Oyster House.

We had a delicious dinner and it was the perfect way to end the celebration of our little man turning 9 years old!
