Charlotte Day 1

It’s the Coca-cola 600, the biggest weekend for NASCAR and we will be there for it all!!

We knew we wanted to head to Charlotte for the 600, so when Courtney brought up making a whole weekend of it, I was all for it.

I miss living by Charlotte and being around all things NASCAR, so I can’t wait to head back and show the kids around. Logan always gets bummed seeing all the pictures of all of us at the NASCAR garages because he was so little to even remember any of it.

Leading up to the day, Logan kept saying to me, I can’t wait to go to Hendrick and make all new memories with you. I truly can’t wait to see his face light up when he’s surrounded by everything NASCAR, he’s going to be one happy little boy.

To start off our NASCAR weekend, we decided to get an early start out the door at home and head straight to downtown Charlotte and go to the hall of fame.

We had been to the hall of fame multiple times, but it never gets old.

Logan was super excited when we rounded the corner and there was the one and only, Lightning McQueen! It’s always pretty sweet seeing Lightning McQueen!

It’s always fun walking around the hall of fame and seeing how NASCAR started and how it got to be what it is today, but now it’s on to our next stop.

Hendrick Motorsports!!

We were pleasantly surprise when we walked through the Hendrick campus, we saw Dale Jr. I love seeing him! He’s the driver that first made me want to watch NASCAR, so he will always be a favorite of mine.

We did some looking around the campus and then headed back to the pit stop practice. They held a practice for everyone to watch. They even explained certain things that you most likely wouldn’t think of when it comes to a pit stop. It was pretty incredible being able to watch a pit stop literally right in front of you.

Inside one of the many buildings that they have on the campus, they had tons of sheet metal for sale, along with crew shirts and tires. They also had face painting and Optimus Prime and Bubble Bee were there, which the kids thought was pretty cool.

Nothing beats being at Hendrick Motorsports. It’s such an amazing campus and I’m never really ready to leave it because it’s so cool to just see all of it person. The kids have already said to us, “ when can we go back to Hendrick?” I’m so glad that they’ve enjoyed all of this as much as Courtney and I do.

Now, it’s time to head to our room for the night to rest for the next next day of NASCAR adventures!
