Charlotte Day 2

Day 1 was full of everything NASCAR, now onto Day 2 of another day full of NASCAR!

First stop, Joe Gibbs Racing. Not the biggest fan of JGR, but I do really like the garage. JGR was about a mile from where we lived when we lived in North Carolina, so we made many stops into JGR, just to watch the men/woman working on the cars.

Now, onto 23xi! WOW!! What a beautiful building. It sure was incredible seeing the outside of this building, but then you walk inside and you’re just blown away. You can see all the bits and pieces that they did for Michael Jordan and Denny Hamlin. Everything was done with thought and making it a good fan experience.

Team Penski time. They have a pretty sweet garage. It’s dang cool that you can go up on the walkway and look down on the area that they work on the cars. You see the cars on one side and then you look to the other and you see all the haulers. In a way it does suck that it’s race weekend because you don’t see anyone in the garage working on the cars, but it’s so cool to see either way.

JR. Motorsports!

This was the stop that Logan was looking forward to the whole day. Sam Mayer, his favorite Xfinity driver is at JRM, so he was excited to see all the Sam Mayer stuff. We were even lucky enough to have one of the workers ask if we wanted to go into the garage for a picture. It was pretty dang cool to stand next to one of Dale’s cars!

I continued to see things about this antique mall that was huge and had lots of NASCAR stuff, so since we were in the area, we had to stop. But first, food!! We ended up at a pizza place that was attached to the antique mall and it was probably some of the best pizza we have ever had. We love a good wood grill pizza!

The antique mall was beyond awesome and wish I took pictures of the inside. There was so much to look at and we probably didn’t even scratch the surface of it. We spent a good 2 hours there and we loved every minute of it, even the kids. I can’t wait to go back!

We made some pit stops of our own on the way back to our motel.

Bass Pro Shops and a walk through the mall
Trackhouse, which unfortunately they were closed
&
RFK (Roush Fenway Keslowski) but they were closed also

Another day down and another day to go. We’re exhausted, but tomorrow is race day! So, time to get to the room and rest up for the 600!
