Darlington Raceway

We’re back at the race track!!!

One thing I told Courtney after he got back home from deployment was that I wanted to go to as many races as we could. And so here we are at Darlington Raceway!

We love going to Darlington Raceway. Not only is it only a 45 minute drive from home, but it’s now become one of our favorite tracks to go to.

We made it a full day of race day fun. We got up bright and early, made some lunch to take with us, packed up the car and headed to the track!

When we got to the track, we knew that we wanted to start off our time at the track, just by walking around and going to all the merchandise haulers. We always can find new merch of our favorite drivers! Logan and I ended up with some new hats. Mine, Chase Elliott of course and Logan got himself a Sam Mayer hat, which he’s been wanting for a long while now.

After browsing all the merchandise haulers and all the other fun stuff that Darlington has to offer, we went back to the car to have some lunch and just cool off before we sit in the stands for the race.

After spending a good amount of time cooling off and getting food in our bellies, it was time to find our seats. I like getting inside the track early, just so we are able to take all the smells and sounds of NASCAR in. It’s also pretty dang cool to watch the blimp floating up above you.

It’s finally race time!! Oh how we have missed this! We love being at the track!

At Darlington for this year, it’s called throwback weekend. It’s pretty sweet seeing all the drivers that we love in paint schemes that we’ve seen our previous favorite drivers have. The paint scheme Chase Elliott had, would have to be my all time favorite. He threw it back to Dale Jr. days in his National Guard paint scheme. It sure was a sharp car!

It was a very hot one sitting there in the stands watching, but it’s worth it in the end. We saw a great race and ended in a win for Brad Keslowski. It had been 110 races since his last win, so it was pretty exciting to witness this win!
