Here we are! 14 years old!
We really lucked out with this one!
It has been a great first year dealing with having a teenager. Yes, we do get some attitude and other typical teenager stuff, but not as much as I thought it would be. Sure, it will probably change a bit as the years go on, but we feel incredibly lucky that McKaila has blossomed into a beautiful young lady.
McKaila is a straight A student. She even is in a couple honor classes this year and is doing far better in those classes than she ever thought she would.
She’s also a part of the National Junior Honor Society.
McKaila is also one heck of an artist.
Courtney and I are very proud parents and feel incredibly blessed. 14 years with this beautiful soul and we look forward to seeing all the things that she’ll be accomplishing in the future.
Weekday birthdays are tough because you want to celebrate the birthday girl as much as you can. We did our best trying to cram everything we could into an evening.
Picked up everyone from school and off we went for bday dinner at El Paso. After a yummy dinner, it was home to start opening presents.
As always, McKaila was spoiled. And not just spoiled by the presents. McKaila was spoiled by having more than just Courtney and I, and her siblings here to celebrate with her. She got to also have grandma and grandpa Kuipers, along with Skylar and Auntie.
This was the first time, I think ever, since having kids, that we haven’t had all our iPads and phones stationed on the floor. We always try to make sure that whoever wants to watch someone open presents, that they are able to. But, it was nice to just enjoy having everyone here to witness it all in person this year.
What a wonderful day of celebrating our birthday girl.
McKaila mentioned many times, that she wasn’t ready to be 14.
But, McKaila
You are rocking it!
You are an amazing young, beautiful, 14 year old and don’t you ever forget that!
