Christmas time!
What a busy time of the year! I feel like this year the holidays came and yet so quickly. I guess it was a bit different for us last year because Courtney wasn’t here with us, so I made sure I was making everything perfect and taking every little bit of it in.
This year, Courtney was here at home with us and we also had Donn and Nancy here with us! It sure was nice to have family around us for Christmas. It has been a while since there has been more than just the 5 of us here on Christmas morning.
Christmas Eve, the kids made gingerbread houses with grandma Nancy, helped make cookies and decorate them for Santa and spent good quality time together as a family.
No Christmas Eve is complete without lots of popcorn eating and watching The Polar Express. Then, finishing it off with setting out the milk and cookies for Santa, along with chex mix and carrots for the reindeer and reading The Night Before Christmas.
Christmas Eve always seems like a very busy day, but when the sun sets and it’s time to cuddle around the tv to watch The Polar Express, I am always excited to leave the busyness of the day and enjoy our Christmas Eve family traditions. It is what I look forward to most throughout the holiday season.
Christmas morning is here and the kids are very eager to start unwrapping all their presents. As they are getting older, there has become less and less presents under the Christmas tree because they tend to want the more expensive things, so even though they didn’t have as much under the tree this year, they were still very spoiled got everything that they had asked for.
Logan has been asking for a Nintendo Switch for as long as I can remember and finally this year, all his asking paid off. He was overjoyed as you can see on his many facial expressions.
The holidays are over and time to get the house back in order and get back to regular life. I love the holidays, but they sure are busy. I’m ready to get the kids back to school and get back to our regular schedule.
