Family Time

I'm not doing to good at doing blogs lately, sorry for to all those who follow and look for updates on the girls.

Not a whole lot has been going on here, other then trying to get the hang of things on my own. Last Thursday, was the first time I was alone taking care of the girls. Courtney was lucky enough to have until May 20th off for paternity leave and then with that, my sister, Amber came for a visit along with my mother. It was very nice to have all the help with the girls, especially with McKaila because I couldn't give her all my attention all the time, like she's used to. So, having family around for a couple weeks was very helpful.

We haven't really gone on too many outings since McKenna arrived, but while Amber was here, we decided to head out to New Orleans. Not only to explore there, but Courtney and Amber wanted to get a Mega Millions ticket. (they don't have lottery in Mississippi) It only takes about an hour and a half to get there from Biloxi, which is great, because I know we are all looking forward to going back real soon!!

McKaila is excited for a road trip

Once in New Orleans, we went driving around and at one point we looked in front of us and saw a bunch of giraffes. The zoo was in front of us. We didn't go to the zoo, but we did get the chance to walk up to the fence to see the giraffes. McKaila loved it and can't wait to take her back, but next time we'll be going inside the zoo!! By the area where we got out to see the giraffes, there was this very old tree. It was huge and many people were climbing on it and sitting on the branches. So, of coarse McKaila wanted to take part in it!

While my mom was here, we basically stayed inside for the most part because it was too hot to do anything else. We did go out and hit up a few stores in which McKaila found herself a princess dress which she just had to have, so Grandma bought it for her. If she would of had it her way, she would have gone to bed with her princess dress on!

The Loves of My Life

Sometimes it's still hard to believe that we are now a family of 4, but I sure am incredibly lucky to have these 2 beautiful daughters! It truly is a blessing to have 2 daughters and an amazing husband. It's hard not to get teary eyed just looking at McKaila and McKenna lying next to each other on the ground and holding hands or just lying in daddy's lap. Life can't get better then this!

McKaila has warmed up really well to having McKenna around. I don't think she really knew at first how to react to having a baby in the house, but she is doing great with having McKenna around. She is constantly asking to hold her baby sister and she loves to give her kisses. And every time McKenna starts to cry, McKaila is usually the first to go up to her and see if she's alright. McKaila is going to be a great big sister, I know that for sure!

Introducing McKenna Grace

McKenna decided she wanted to come join our family a little earlier then we thought and on May 1, 2013 at 4:30 a.m. we held McKenna in our arms for the first time!

McKenna came very fast, and we were very thankful that Courtney's dad and step mom were able to make it here just in time to take McKaila.

My contractions started the morning before at 3 a.m. They literally woke me up from my sleep. They were so intense, that I couldn't stay in bed any longer. Courtney was still sleeping and had no idea what was going on, and he needed rest because he had to go to work. I got up and decided to do laundry because I knew if I didn't do it then, it just might not get done. A couple hours later Courtney came downstairs and since my contractions were pretty strong, he decided to stay home to take care of  McKaila and I. To be honest I don't remember much of the day, other then trying to get some cuddles in with McKaila.

Then, comes 9 p.m. and my contractions were in high gear and so painful. I went to the restroom where I thought my water had broke. So, all three of us head to the hospital. Yes, McKaila joined us because we were waiting for Courtney's dad and step mom to arrive and they were about an hour away. My water didn't break and was at only 2 centimeters dilated, so they sent me home. I ate some Burger King because that was the only thing that was open, and just like that the contractions were coming every couple minutes. So, not even 2 hours later, we were headed back to the hospital. Thankfully, I was dilated to 5-6 centimeters and was admitted. From there, things moved so quickly. I wanted an epidural so badly because the pain was unbearable, but when they checked me a half hour after I got there, I was at 9 centimeters, so they gave me a spinal tap and after pushing for 15 minutes, McKenna Grace was here!!

36 Weeks

This pregnancy has flown by. I feel like we were just finding out that we were expecting another baby, and here we are at 36 weeks pregnant! Next week McKenna will officially become full term, but I'm sure we will still have a couple more weeks.

At the last appointment, we were told that I most likely will be induced at 39 weeks, just like I was with McKaila, due to my blood pressure. My blood pressure isn't as high as it was with McKaila, but it's been constantly high this whole pregnancy. So, more then likely we will be meeting McKenna Grace in a few short weeks.

With that being said, I've been going crazy making sure we have everything together and ready for McKenna's arrival. Diapers, wipes, pacifiers, and so on. I've washed all of the clothes, burp clothes, blankets, and everything else. Pack N Play, swing and bouncy seat are ready to be laid in, even though McKaila has been enjoying putting her babies in them. And finally, this weekend Courtney painted the letters for McKenna's name to put up in her room!

I believe that we are ready, even though in my head, I feel like I'm not! Even though I've made lists of everything that I need to still do and have to have for my hospital bag, I always feel like I'm forgetting something. We shall see when the day comes though!

As for me, I've been feeling pretty good. I'm just all around feeling uncomfortable. McKenna's movements are getting really strong and she's always busy moving. I've been having horrible heart burn lately, so tums have truly become a life saver for me in these last few weeks. But the worst thing of it all, is that my hips have been hurting a lot! That's one thing I never experienced with McKaila is my hips hurting, so it hasn't been too much fun dealing with it. I find that it feels best when I'm reclined in my chair, but even then it still hurts! So, all in all, I'm ready for McKenna to make her appearance!

Welcome to the Polnicky's

Finally, this weekend we finished putting up the last of the pictures around the house. I'm sure there still will be stuff we'll do around the house, but for now, it's finally starting to feel like home!

We really love it here! It's so nice having a bigger home to live in for our growing family! And I really love have a second story house. Well, I do sometimes. It's been hard walking up and down the stairs at times, but I try to limit how much I do that during the day! It's just been nice to have all the extra space for everything!

Here is a look into our new house

34 Weeks

Today marks 34 weeks pregnant along with opening day for baseball! That's why I'm sporting my new Detroit Tigers shirt!! A few weekends ago we were able to head out to the outlets and do some shopping at Motherhood Maternity and I found this super cute Tigers shirt in the clearance rack. Along with my Tigers shirt I got some tank tops, shirts and some leggings. I'm all ready for the warm weather!!!

I've been feeling pretty well other than each day I feel like my belly gets bigger and bigger. I've been getting tired a lot more faster when we are out and about, but I've been pretty good about taking breaks when I feel like I'm getting too tired. I'm so thankful for my Boppy Body Pillow or else I don't think I would be sleeping as well as I am right now due to my ever growing belly. But the moment I open my eyes, McKenna is busy moving around!

McKenna is a mover, that is for sure. And day by day, her movements are getting even stronger. I love feeling her move, but sometimes she pushes so hard, that it hurts a bit, but I still love it!

Tomorrow, I have my 2nd appointment here at Keesler AFB. My first appointment I was truly happy all around with all the friendly mid-wifes and nurses. We even got to take a tour of labor and delivery which was wonderful. I'm so happy that I get to be in the same room from beginning to end and that McKenna will be at eyes view after I have her, unlike when I had McKaila. They took her to clean her off and couldn't see anything. This time, McKenna will be right next to me!!
