Luckily for me, Courtney had surgery, so he's going to be home with me or he would be able to go with us if we needed to evacuate. But if he was at work and was teaching a class, he would have to stay here while I travel away from the storm with the girls, cats, and dogs. Crossing my fingers that if we ever have to get out of here at anytime in these next 4 years, he'll be able to come with us.
Yesterday, I already went out and stocked up on water and snacks and whatever else I could think of just in case we were to lose electricity. I also went and filled up my car with gas. Gas was only $3.06, and we saw today when we went out to get McKenna diapers that gas was $3.01. But I still remember when I got my license, that I could fill up my tank with gas for less then $15.
They sky was looking pretty and creepy all at the same time tonight
Tonight, I started bringing in all the stuff that I have outside, inside the garage. So, now our garage is packed full with garden stuff along with all of the girls toys from the backyard. So, we are ready for Karen to get here. I'm not looking forward to it because if you know me, I'm not a big fan of storms. I don't like thunderstorms, so I really don't like all this hurricane stuff. I feel a little more at ease knowing Courtney is here with us, but it still worries me.
From the looks of it right now, Karen will make landfall around Sunday morning, storm surge starting tomorrow. We've already seen some rain and some higher winds then usual. I will try and update as much as I can because I love to take pictures of the skies during storms, I just don't like being in them. It doesn't make much sense, I know.
