Happy Halloween!

Halloween for us this year was very different then past years. In NC and MS it was warm enough out that we didn't really need to put much thought into what it was going to be like the night of trick or treating. Very different here, where it was in the low 40's and at one point it was said that it may rain/snow.

All 3 kids were dealing with coughs, 2 were dealing with runny noses, so Courtney and I had to make the decision that we didn't want them to go trick or treating, but they could help hand out candy. So, with that, we decided to head to the girls school for the fall festival. There they could dress up in their halloween costumes without having to be all bundled up, eat some sandwiches and play some games.

It actually ended up being a couple hours of fun for the kids. They really enjoyed playing all the games and being able to pick out prizes, which didn't always include candy, but pencils and other little toys. The kids don't eat candy, so having them win just a few pieces of candy, but also getting other little prizes was perfect in my eyes.

Can't go to school on Halloween without dressing up in our Halloween shirts!

Wow!! I feel like every time I take pictures of these 3 kids, they look so big!!

Halloween night came and went. We didn't have a whole lot of trick or treaters, but enough for the kids to enjoy handing out some candy. They were a little bummed with the fact that we wanted them to stay out of the cold so they didn't get really sick, but they were always so excited when they would hear the trick or treaters at the door.

Here's hoping next year, we aren't dealing with running noses and coughs, so we can do get out and do our own trick or treating.
