Happy 13th Birthday, McKaila Rose

Wait, What?!? 

We have a child that is a teenager? This can’t be real!

 I don’t want to believe it, but it’s here. 

McKaila is now 13 and she’s a beautiful, young 13 year old. 

I continued to ask her if she was ready to become 13 and she always respond with, “can i go back to being 5?” Oh, to have you be 5 again, but I’m loving watching you grow into a young little lady. 

McKaila’s bday landed on a weekday, so she woke up to all her presents displayed in the living room, but couldn’t open them until she got home from school. So, soon after she got in the car after school, it was “hurry up and get home, I want to open up my presents!”

She was a spoiled teenager, as it is at every birthday. 

And we were beyond grateful that our family members that weren’t here with us, could be with us via FaceTime, especially Courtney. He stayed up way past his bedtime to be able to watch McKaila open her presents. 

A birthday isn’t complete without a birthday cake and it was compete by adding the 13 candles for her to blow out!

Since McKaila’s birthday landed on a weekday, we decided to have her birthday dinner on Friday after school. McKaila wanted Olive Garden to celebrate her turning 13, so to Olive Garden we go! And it was delicious!! We just really missed having birthday dinner without Courtney! 

All in all, McKaila’s birthday was a huge success. It’s hard not having Courtney here to celebrate, but I hope I was able to make her day a little extra special, since we were missing a piece of us.
